Raincity Blue is a Vancouver-based Alt-Funk group making waves with their unique sound, fronted by female leads on saxophone and vocals and backed by hard grooves and chameleon tones. Their high-energy performances highlight the interplay between musicians, Raincity Blue is a dynamic and engaging live experience.

Members Clare Twiddy, Kaylar Chan, Ryley Kirkpatrick, Chantal Gauthier, and Sheldon D’Eith combine wide-ranging influences from Amy Winehouse to Moonhooch. Communication is the backbone of their songwriting and live shows apparent in the maturity of their work.

Raincity Blue has performed at festivals such as Canadian Music Week (Toronto), Rifflandia (Victoria), Seattle Hempfest, and TD’s International Jazz Festival (Vancouver). They have appeared in articles on the Vancouver 24 Hr, Do250, The Nanaimo News Bulletin, and The Snipe News, and on radio stations such as Pacific Sound Radio, Roundhouse Radio, and CiTR Radio.

With the support of Creative BC and the BC Music Fund Raincity Blue recorded their debut album “Stuck on Replay” at Rain City Recorders in August 2017. They released the album to a sold-out audience at the Wise Hall in January 2018.

Early in 2018 the band was chosen in the top 100 of CBC Searchlight and won the Hard Rock Casino's Rock the Mic competition as well as Music Heals Covers for the Cause Rifflandia contest. Raincity Blue is recording their upcoming EP at The Warehouse Studios, set to release early 2019. The band looks forward to a Western US/Canada tour in March 2019.
